The Turning Point- Review

“The Turning Point” is a documentary that follows Ross Williams and his wife Kristan for the entire pregnancy, all the highs and lows are shown on film to help educate all of us on what really happens trimester thru trimester. When I actually saw the film they were so up close and personal that you began to feel like part of the family yourself. Watching everything progress your emotions swell and keep in line with theirs as you see all the trials and tribulations of being with child.

Some pregnancies are brutal on the body, when I was pregnant I threw up every 15 minutes for just about the whole 9 months. This couple is so loving and cute together that when “Ash” who is named after Bruce Campbell’s character in the “Evil Dead” trilogy comes along I just know all the love and affection he will receive. It was nice to see a man so involved in the whole thing. Him talking to the baby thru her belly all the time and kissing it.

“The Turning Point” seems to mean it’s time to grow up and take on the responsibility to be a good mother and father to their child, and it is very obvious that they aren’t going to have a hard time doing that their big loving hearts are shown thru out and you just can tell it’s all going to work out just fine. Seeing them go thru the “get no sleep” stage with baby Ash up all night reminded me of my own frustration of never being able to catch any z’s but how in the end it’s all worth it.

I think this documentary would be great to show teenagers in school so they can realize and be shown the facts of having a child. It’s not all about buying cute outfits and playing house…it’s real and it’s tough. Plus it shows some out the pain you experience during labor. Kids need to see this film as a wake up call and women who are on the road to making their own family will really enjoy this as well. “The Turning Point” is a beautiful way to show the world what pregnancy is all about.
