Evil Bong II: King Bong
July 28, 2009
King Bong is the follow up to Evil Bong starring Tommy Chong. The first film had a few special guests like The Gingerdead Man, Bill Mosely, and my personal favorite Ooga Booga from Doll Graveyard. If your curious or if you haven’t seen Evil Bong you can find my review here:
http://thisissomescene.com/?p=368
Charles Band is well known for his killer movies with kooky characters. Whether it be the dolls in the Puppetmaster series or Eebee the vintage powerful bong herself from Evil Bong. King Bong even has a quick intro so you get a quick feel of the first film, you know a little explanation on how it all began. Our trio of dedicated pot smokers are back Larnell, Brett, and of course Bachman… oh monkey! They are all still puffin away but only know each of them has a little problem.
It seems that ever since they smoked from that evil bong Eebee they all are having weird exaggerated side effects. Bachman keeps passing out cold and then not remembering that he did, Brett has the severe munchies and can’t stop stuffing food into his now mammoth mouth and Larnell has a weird sex drive where he’ll hump anything from people’s legs to chair arms. After getting Allistar to come over they devise a plan to figure out this whole mess.
Rabbit the delivery guy shows up and they now know they have to head to the Amazon where the bong originated. They meet Velicity and Larnell’s mean old grandpa there. Legend has it that the Poontang clan follow orders from the baddest of them all, King Bong. Now they all need to take a toke off of King Bong and travel inside his trip to destroy him. King Bong is also Eebee’s ex and she is pissed at all the bare breasted Poontang girls he now has worshipping him.
Will these stoners be able to handle King Bong’s plan for them all? Will they be seduced by the Poontang clan? Or will they head in there and get the job done? Will Brett remain a fat ass forever while Larnell will be stuck grinding on anything that he can straddle? You’ll all have to delve into your stoner mindset and find out for yourselves! King Bong has it’s laugh out loud moments as well as it’s so corny you can’t help but smile!

Annubis Productions debuts 12 Bells Trailer
July 11, 2009
Erik Soulliard, writer/director of The Creek, (listen to our interview with Erik Soulliard HERE) brings you horror from another dimension. The 12 Bells trailer was shot using the RED ONE camera and it looks simply amazing. From what I’ve seen already, it would appear that the RED ONE camera has leveled the playing field between true independent filmmakers and Hollywood. Read about 12 Bells below and then click on the link below to view the trailer.
From the 12 Bells website:
A diverse group of apartment dwellers unsuspectingly become trapped in a parallel dimension of disparate doors. While most are merely acquaintances at the outset, the group is thrust into a maze of hallways and rooms only to be separated by the mystifying element of each doorway. As they struggle to reunite and find their way, they encounter a myriad of macabre and often manic beings who threaten their life with false hope and violent sadistic behavior.
Caleb, an alcoholic recluse with a dark past who inhabits the same apartment building, must risk his last bit of sanity to help his fellow residents and rid himself of his own inner demons.12 Bells is a suspenseful, high-paced horror that highlights the supernatural possibility that not every missing person is a victim of violent crime. Set in a warehouse resembling a mysterious netherworld, the clash of human and sub-human beings results in a chilling perplexity of survival.

The Mystical Adventures of Billy Owens
July 9, 2009
I grew up with a kid named Billy Owens but he never had any special abilities or luck like the kid in this film. The Mystical Adventures of Billy Owens is all about magic and what can happen if you believe in yourself. Today is Billy’s 11th birthday and he thinks it’s going to be another boring day, well believe me he is way off on this guesstimate and soon he’ll be proven wrong!
He has two very close friends Devon and Mandy that he does basically everything with. He gets dropped off at school by his mom with a birthday card with some cash in it. A kid that constantly bully’s him tries to get that cash but thankfully a teacher intervenes. After school as he is being chased by the bully he runs into William Thurgood’s (Roddy Piper) Treasure Trove and Pawn Shop and finds a magical wand that he likes and purchases it.
Suddenly he is equip with an array of powers and his simple life changes into a magical adventure. His friends are along for the ride as they deal with mythical creatures, caves, and a mission that he must complete to save his town of Spirit River. The effects in this movie are minor but the storyline for the kids is highly entertaining.
Soon things start to fall into place and he learns that there are teachers at school and family members that have been involved in magic the whole time. Will Billy be able to save Spirit River? You’ll find that out and more if you watch The Mystical Adventures of Billy Owens. There is also a to be continued at the end so I am sure there will be more quests for the kiddies to enjoy in the near future!
Interview with the Multi-Talented Patt Attack!
July 7, 2009
Patt Whelan is a 27 year-old tattoo artist based out of West Philadelphia. He currently works at Sick Creations Tattoo in West Deptford, NJ. Patt was born in NYC and raised in nearby Westchester County. After studying Illustration at FIT in Manhattan, he moved to Philadelphia to pursue tattooing. He has been involved in the punk and hardcore scene since he was a teen and has illustrated many record covers, show flyers, and shirt designs. He started tattooing professionally in March of 2006 and is always looking to learn and grow as an artist. His artwork is inspired by low budget horror movies, 80’s gross out culture (like Garbage Pail Kids, Madballs, etc.) and skateboard graphics.
1. When did you realize that you had some real artistic talent brewing in you?
PATT- I’ve been drawing as long as I can remember, literally. I have memories from when I must have been 4 or 5 of drawing big epic war scenes with all sorts of tanks and fighter jets.
2. What’s it like working such long hours at Sick Creations Tattoo parlor?
PATT- It’s not bad at all. It only feels long if it’s a slow day, otherwise time flies when you’re having fun! It’s pretty awesome making a living doing something I love.
3. What does a typical day at work entail?
PATT- A typical day starts with me getting in 5 to 30 minutes late. Do some drawing for the days appointments. Then I’ll do a few tattoos, either appointments or if I don’t have any, whatever walks in. Between tattooing and drawing throughout the day I’ll work on paintings, dick around on the internet and watch DVDs and cable (we just got a TV).
4. Now besides tattooing you are in two bands, how the hell do you ever find time for yourself?
PATT- Good question, the only day I don’t have work or band practice is Sunday. And Sunday is dedicated to going to church…. psyche!
5. The Claw is a metal band based in Philadelphia. Where do you play out at?
PATT- We play a lot of DIY spots in West Philly, and the occasional bar show in center city. Places like The Khyber,Tritone, M Room…
6. The second band is a Garage Punk band called Teenage Whore-Moans. How did you get into this one?
PATT- Teenage Whore-Moans came about this last December. Matt and Bender came up with the concept of the band, and when they told me the name I knew I had to be a part of it. The Claw had recently been forced into hiatus by the death out singer, so it was an opportunity to keep playing shows.
7. You have been on you tour with one or both bands?
PATT- The Claw has done a couple small tours on the east coast, Midwest, and down south. Teenage Whore-Moans will do our first tour this September. We’re doing 2 weeks down to New Orleans and back. I also toured with the now defunct Low Budgets as a roadie and as a fill in bassist on 2 US tours as well as a European tour.
8. Do you indulge in the fast lifestyle of partying and groupies?
PATT- I definitely like to party, and groupies would be nice, unfortunately my bands don’t have any!
PATT- That would be 6 weeks with the Low Budgets. We went across the country and back, good times!

Rough Cut review
July 6, 2009
How far would you go to make a movie? Apparently Blaine Norris thought he needed to commit murder in order to get his film finished. He was set on making an independent horror film called Through Hike and had actress Robin Griggs all set to star in it until she hurt her wrist. Sounds awful to say but maybe it was a blessing in disguise for her.
Randi Trimble was a very loving an respectful person who didn’t have a bad bone in her body. Randi was born in 1974 at a Navy hospital. Randi was a very happy easy going woman who just cared so much for everyone around her. Watching this film you really can not understand her husbands reasoning on why she was killed.
Blaine Norris felt that Randi was interfering with the film by making Brian not get involved as he had planned. Plus she didn’t want Brian to lend Blaine his expensive camera equipment. So Brian told Blaine he couldn’t and that’s when a plan began to form about how they could get rid of her for good. Brian already wanted out of the marriage and was planning on divorcing her.
What was going thru Brian’s mind that made him think that killing her was better then divorcing her? He made an agreement with Blaine that he wanted him to strangle her. Blaine went on his anger and the hope that the money he would receive for killing her would be enough to finish his film. The cops feel that Blaine enjoyed what he did that night murdering Randi and if he wasn’t caught, he would of did it again.
Blaine felt that the whole situation was like a game and even though there were high stakes he could still win. He was a sociopath and had no conscioius to make him feel guilty or make him lose any sleep at night. The two men’s families were left totally bewildered at what made their children into killers. Neither man was abused or had a rough life growing up.
No one deserves to die like poor Randi did. Those bastards deserve the death sentence for what they did. Blaine stabbed Randi over 28 times. How can he live with himself? He claims to have finally found God and that God forgave him. I hope and pray that Randi’s mom somehow manages to find peace and the will to go on but I know she will never forget….
Goth Kill
July 2, 2009
When I used to go out and cover shows for www.bacstagepass.com, I started to really see some kick ass metal chicks on the scene. There were The Metal Twins shaking their nice tails onstage with the likes of Static X and then there was Fuse’s own hottie Mistress Juliya who pretty much dominated the NYC underground scene. All of these women were truly inspiring and Juliya’s hotness graces us in Goth Kill.
Goth Kill was released thru Wild Eye Releasing and is the dark tale of Nicholas Dredd who disagreed with innocent victims being burned at the stake. He decdides he must do something about it but his superiors think otherwise and burn his ass at the stake. As his flesh scorches and sends the ashes of his soul amongst them he vows to return with the help from Satan himself to have his own kingdom.
We are then taken to the 21st century in NYC where Dredd has come back to finish up the deal. The thing is that in order for his end of the bargain to be granted he must kill 100,000 souls then he’ll finally have his wicked wish, and it doesn’t matter how many times it takes going back to life to get these bodies. A cutesy girl named Annie is moving into an apartment with her goth friend Kate.
Kate takes her shopping and sets on making this chick fit into the scene just as well as she does. A store worker hands Kate a pass to a club that is inhabited by the well known Scorpion Society. They are like this vampire clan of wanna be dark warriors. Will these people be able to handle Dredd when he gets there and gives them all a taste of the real thing? You just have to pop this in to see, and check out DJ Demon she’s a total knock out!
